The perks of learning a language
Certainly, many people that are learning a language would agree with the idea that few things are as satisfactory and pleasing as finally understanding a sentence in a foreign language, especially if you have been studying it for a long time.
It is in this type of moments and situations in which we see all of our efforts being paid off. And it is not a secret that being able to speak a foreign language has plenty of advantages. And we are not only speaking of the career related ones, but also those that are closely linked to self-development.
Who would not like being able to listen to their favourite foreign actor or actress speaking in their native tongue, and focusing on them without having to read subtitles? Or who would not like to listen to those Spotify playlists and being capable of understanding the songs? The lyrics hit different for real.
There are many ways and techniques of learning a language, but here is a fact: nothing works better than immersing yourself in that language and its culture: watch TV programmes and series in that language, read in that language, listen to songs in that language… And, this one is crucial… go abroad to a country that speaks that language!
Because all the things listed before surely work, but nothing makes you use your knowledge as much as having to communicate and maintain conversations in that tongue you want to learn. Which is good, because you will probably meet some native speakers that can become your friends and help you during the way. It is a win-win situation!
